Break Your Fast With a Gut Healthy Breakfast

First thing in the morning, I’m not generally one of those hungry as a bear folk. As I understand the benefits of Intermittent Fasting, I tend to prolong breaking my fast for as long as I can. What I do consume, however, immediately upon rising, is a hydrating mug of warm and zesty lemonade. See Alyce’s Lemonade, with a Twist, Hot or Cold recipe.

On weekdays I simplify life by whipping up a Greenie (green smoothie) and bring it to work in a glass jar. This I sip it all morning, from around 9:00 am onward. I find this meal for a drink to be filling and energizing. My more recent and richer Ketogenic version, (made with coconut oil) really seems to take the edge off from any morning irritability or work tension. See Alyce’s Greenie, Keto Version.

On more relaxed days, like weekends and holidays, I am able to enjoy a more leisurely breakfast or brunch. On these days I focus on gut healthy menu options for delicious, nutritious meals.
